VE6AB Mobile Ops
Antenna Proofing
Early morning finds me running tests with the 3 element yagi antenna that I built some while ago. I retrieved it out of my antenna arsenal, as I recently realized that there are times that I could use it with my antenna array as seen and described here in this link.....

As well, I have spent a couple of busy weeks, with the completion of several other antennas. the log-periodic as seen here stored in the cargo bay of my mobile being one of them.
I continue to run tests with it, and over the past several days, and with the log-periodic along with several of my 3 element yagis for comparison on the 2 meter band, its been an interesting experiment on the antenna range, playing off the two types of antennas against one another.
The other antenna that I recently completed and stored in the cargo bay as well, is my 6 meter DXing Halo, although for the most part, the antenna proved itself over the summer months when there was more activity on the band.
December should bring more openings on the band, and I am looking forward to adding more contacts to the log.
Meanwhile, I am enjoying getting re-acquainted with this 3 element yagi built for the 2 meter band.
The radiating elements and the main boom are made up of anodized Easton 7075 -T6 high tensile aluminum alloy. The radiating elements are 9mm OD, and the main boom is 12.5mm OD.
This particular antenna has a very cool (in my mind) Gamma match, and more can be found describing it here.....
