VE6AB Mobile Ops
May 2017 QST - Take It Outside
I shot the cover photo of the May issue of QST, showing some of the essential gear that I carry in my daypack while out on the trail, possibly while hiking in to a remote location shown on the topo map to operate from, or to fly-fish a trout stream located along the eastern slope of the Alberta Rockies.
Its crucial that you are prepared for any un-planned situations that could develop, and carrying a basic survival kit with you could save the day, or even an unplanned stay over night.
The May issue of QST features the article that I wrote "Get In Gear With Portable Operations" describing the essentials that you need to carry in your EPK (Emergency Preparedness Kit) while operating away from home, possibly while operating on field day coming up in June.
Note, the cover photo expands further by clicking on it.
