VE6AB Mobile Ops
Snow Bound Ops
Most of southern Alberta was issued a storm warning by Environment Canada over the last couple of days, and the Calgary area was forecasted as possibly receiving 25 to 35 centimeters of snow.
With heavy snow coming down on Friday, Saturday morning would prove to be a good time to get out with my cameras.
With snow still coming down and getting deeper by the hour, I thought possibly I'd trade in my mobile for a horse and sleigh. Stopping by this livery stable, I was told by the horse wrangler that they were all out of sleighs due to the conditions, so I decided to stick with my mobile.
I suspect I was better off regardless, as I was enjoying working 20 meters on occasion while I made my way through snow covered roads looking for photo-ops, and I some how doubted I'd enjoy working the bands from a one horse open sleigh.
