APRS - Birds Eye View
Just checking out the new mapset that I recently installed on my Garmin Montana.
Of course the real plus advantage is that I have my Montana connected to my Kenwood D72 seen here positioned in my chest harness, with the Montana giving me a birds eye view of other APRS stations in the surrounding APRS network.
This map set is the Backroads Alberta GPS Mapset with enhanced 1:50,000 Alberta SRD Resource Maps and also has detailed city and highway information, including street addresses and searchable township section numbers or grids.
Also included in the Backroad GPS Maps are the custom or backroad POI sets. There are close to 100,000 searchable points, and you can use these to help navigate by selecting the "Where to" and then "Go!" option or read what each site offers through the More option. This added feature gives you the descriptions or write-ups of most recreation sites located throughout southern Alberta, that have been geo-referenced from the Backroad Mapbook guidebook that I also have with me in my mobile.
