VE6AB Mobile Ops
Operation Radio while GhostTowning in southeastern Alberta
So I'm driving a backroad out near Drumheller located in southeastern Alberta, when I come around a corner of the backroad I'm on, and I spot an old elevator rising above the remains of an old ghostown in the distance.
Before I approach it any closer, and crossing over a creek on a iron girder bridge, I stop and document it for all time (well my time) by shooting the above photo.
I quickly get back in my mobile and head on down the road over the rise in the road that is partially hiding this vintage elevator as well as a few other remaining buildings located in this forgotten ghostown.
I'm soon walking around the elevator shooting photos from various angles, that include a shot or two from the inside of the drive through where the ghosts of grain-trucks past still linger.
After shooting photos of this vintage elevator and its surroundings, it's time to get back in my mobile and head on down the road in search of more hidden treasures located in and around the coulees of southeastern Alberta.
Of course it goes without saying that while I search for more hidden gems, I am playing radio.
