Working Far Horizons
A beautiful fall morning finds me pulled over on this backroad, where I set up my manpack equipped with a Yaesu FT-897D, and 10-40 meter magnetic loop antenna.
With good conditions happening on 40 meters, it allowed for contacts to be made throughout the southeastern US on this morning.
I'm still familiarizing myself with the characteristics of the MLA seen here in operation that I recently completed the building of in my workshop.
Interesting antenna design compared to those that I have built in the past, and I like working the bands with this one a lot.
Expand the photo for a closer look.....
Read my blog-post on the mag loop antenna that I just completed that features an aluminum loop that comes apart for storage in the accessory bag.....
