Balloon Tracker
I spent an enjoyable day out chasing down an APRS high altitude balloon with Brian VE6JBJ and his science class the Airdrie Space Science Club.
We launched this APRS high altitude balloon from a launch site in Carbon located near Drumheller Alberta, and spent a couple of hours tracking it across the skies of southern Alberta.
This photo shows a view of the balloon in near space with the earth below and the blackness of space above.
This photo was shot with one of the cameras located in the payload below the balloon at a distance of 91,000 feet or 27 kilometers above the earth.
