VE6AB Mobile Ops
On The Horizon
With the sun an hour off of the horizon, I have pulled off of highway 564 approximately 80 kilometers east of Calgary, where I have just set up my log periodic on the push-up mast, planning on checking in on the 2 meter SSB net held every Sunday morning..
The control station is located in Gibbons Alberta, approximately 350 kilometers north of my location, and net-control on this morning is Al VE6AN.
Initially the band wasn't in great shape, but after a time conditions improved, and I was able to check in with Al VE6AN, with a good report on my stationary mobile station.
I am pleased with how my new triband log-periodic is working out, and in fact its been so successful, I'm planning on building another log-periodic covering several other bands.
