Smoke Scape - Summer 2017
Wildfires have been taking a toll on the province of British Columbia, as wildfires burning throughout BC rage out of control for the most part.
Approximately 50,000 people having been forced from their homes, some of whom have lost their homes due to the fires over-running communities located in south-central BC.
Having left home about a 1/2 hour before sunrise, and when the time came, I thought I would pull over and shoot a photo of the sun as it rose through the smoke at sunrise.
Well sunrise came and went, and no sun, as it was obscured by smoke when it actually rose on the horizon.
It took another 15 minutes before I saw the sun finally make an appearance through the heavy smoke lying on the landscape.
Although it may appear that there is a layer of cloud lying on the horizon that the sun is rising over, in actuality with clear skies, it is a heavy layer of smoke that covers a large part of southern Alberta these days that has been coming in over the Rockies from the West.
Recently I took a drive out west to the Rockies, and it was interesting as to the effect the smoke had on the photos that I shot on the day.
This is a example of that.....
