VE6AB Mobile Ops
Electrifying...............
The title of this photo makes reference to the currents flowing from the Larson 2/70K dual band antenna into the atmosphere, being generated by the Kenwood TM-D710A transceiver mounted in the radio stack of my mobile.
I'm kidding of course, as this photograph is more about my communicating the emotions I was feeling as the sky went from the dark of night to the light of day.
Taking it one step further, one of the most important aspects of being able to communicate emotion through a photograph is the proper use of light. While there are certainly many other aspects of photography, if the light is wrong, nothing else will work!
What is the best light you ask?...... That depends entirely on what emotion you are trying to convey.
If you wish to communicate the delicacy of a flower, you will choose a different light than if you are photographing a city-scape, or in this photograph, my mobile at sunrise.
That being said, a large number of images are shot in the outdoors where the photographer, and this would be myself on most mornings, wants to communicate the beauty of the natural environment.
On this morning, the best light at my disposal was a soft, warm, directional light that created saturated colors and soft highlights and shadows.
Regardless, I loved how my day started, first by being witness to this wonderful display of light in the breaking dawn, and then followed by a fun hike in the hills bordering my mobile just after sunrise.
