Breaking Trail
With winter having come early to southern Alberta, and although the calendar says its still fall, I enjoyed getting out of the house and going for a drive in the fresh snow that had fallen over night covering the landscape with its cake like icing toping.
It looks like its here to stay, and after all these years I still enjoy winters a lot. Every year at the start to the winter marked by the first snowfall, I look forward to digging out my winter clothes, boots, and other winter gear, before spending time out on a snow covered landscape participating in everything from snowshoeing in the Rockies to ice-fishing on frozen lakes.
Of course it goes without saying that while participating in the many outdoor winter activities that I enjoy, I'll be taking a transceiver along possibly just to keep myself on the map, or at other times to operate from a remote location in the snow.
So we'll see how it goes, meanwhile I'll get on up over this hill and see where this track leads.....
Earlier in the morning I did get down and play in the snow.....
