I stopped to shoot this photo while driving highway 501 west of Milk River, and just a few kilometers north of the US border, with Montana sort of visible in the distance.
As desolate as it looks, and it actually is, I loved the drive to Cardston on a day with temperatures approaching 35 Celsius when I shot this photo.
In a 100 kilometers between Milk River and Del Bonita, I met one other traveller on this road less travelled, in this lonely part of southern Alberta.
The haze in the air, is actually smoke from forest fires burning in Idaho.
