Jerry Clement > Missing

At one time this was the location of the LK Ranch.

Today all that remains is the foundation for the western barn that is seen in the above link photo.

Interestingly enough there is still residents living here, as you may have noticed their residence mounted on this old cottonwood tree.

Beautiful area, now known as McKinnon Flats.and a destination for nature lovers and fly fishers visiting the Bow river that flows through this valley.
Jerry Clement > Layers - simple as one...two...three...four...five

The Lilacs through to the Evergreens may appear as though they touch one another, however the hillside that I stood on to make this photograph, and visible in the foreground, is separated from the Lilacs by a 100 feet, the tree on the right is a further 100 feet, and the next row of trees are 300 feet away, followed by the Evergreens a 1/4 mile away, and on the far bank of the Bow River.

The trick is to keep them all in focus.

Oh the creative powers of a long lens, its called Lens Compression.
Jerry Clement > Lilacs - Flower of the Goddess Venus

No matter what backroad I may find myself on, I always know where someone once lived, although the buildings may be long gone, the lilacs remain marking where a family once lived, but circumstances forced them to move on, leaving the lilacs behind with their fragrance waifing on the breeze.

The lilac is one of the longest-lived shrubs, and the oldest known in North America, over three hundred years old.

Its name comes from the Persian word for blue. In mythology, lilac is the flower of the Goddess Venus, an understandable connection to anyone who's caught the scent of lilacs in full bloom,

These Lilacs, marking the spot where the LK Ranch once stood at McKinnon Flats were wonderful on this day, and their fragrance was to die for.

Jerry Clement > This tiny creek in Kananaskis Country is higher than normal, due to spring runoff.

Its a wonderful time to be out in the high country, as creeks that normally are but a trickle or possibly even dry later on, are pretty as a picture at this time of the year. Love it!
Jerry Clement > Grizzly Creek - Kananaskis Country

I love this creek, and I stop anytime that I am driving by. I scotch-hop back and forth across the creek, seeing the ultimate capture on the other side, but once there, I see a better shot on the other side.

The next thing I know, I am a 1/4 mile from my truck!

Jerry Clement > Reflection Pond - Kananaskis Country

I know its been done before, but I am always a sucker for a pond such as this one, where I am able to capture a image such as this.

Jerry Clement > Kananaskis Country

Have I ever told you how much I love Kananaskis Country....well I 'll say it again, I love Kananaskis Country, and whats not to love, with images like this one that abound in all directions around you.

This photo is of a scene that I have shot many times before in different seasons of the year.

Upper Kananaskis Lake is just out of sight in this photo.

There is also a bog located about 100 meters away, where moose feeding can be observed at sunrise.

Here is one that I caught feeding in this bog lately.
