Jerry Clement > Western Meadowlark

I love the environment that you find the western meadowlark in. It is typical to find meadowlarks perched in sagebrush such as this one.
Jerry Clement > American Kestrel

I don't get these guy's to sit still for me very often, and was very pleased when this male Kestrel posed for me. He would sweep the ground around his perch, and then would fly to the next fence post, and repeat the same procedure before moving once more.
Jerry Clement > Come A Little Closer

This Eagle was perched over-looking the Bow, when a mob of Magpies arrived, and began making the Eagle's life miserable, so the Eagle finally moved on to a new location.

Jerry Clement > Too Cute For Words

It was funny to observe this Coot's nest, as there would be no activity, with all the chicks hidden under mom (or dad, as they took turns keeping the chicks warm), but the moment one of the adult coot's arrived at the nest with a leech, all the chicks would appear out from under mom or dad, and make a mad dash for the waters edge, wanting to be fed first.
I wish dad would hurry with lunch, as its cold out here, and once I eat one of those delicious leechs that he has been bringing us, I'm going back to the nest and warm up under mom's down covered tummy.

Don't be fooled by my life sized image of this chick, the chick would fit very nicely in the palm of your hand like a large golf ball.
Jerry Clement > The Wood Duck

My Photo "The Wood Duck" was awarded 1st Place in 'Flora and Fauna' at the 'Vancouver International Mountain Film Festival
This award winning photograph was shot on a beautiful fall morning in October, when the early morning light just after sunrise was soft and wonderful.
The Wood Duck is considered by many to be the most beautiful of North American waterfowl.

Jerry Clement > Tundra Swan U314

This swan was banded in Alaska based on the info that I received upon turning in the number on the neck collar. I shot the photo on a slough in southern Alberta during migration.
