Working On The Railroad
So I'm still working on my DCC HO switching layout, and at the moment I have been weathering all the rolling stock including the locomotives.
In this series of photos, you can see the original HO CP Rail locomotive on the upper left as it came out of the box.
In the second center insert photo it has been disassembled. I then washed all the parts to be weathered in warm water that includes a drop of dishwashing soap to clean off any oily residue. Once the parts were dry, I grimed them up with several shades of weathering powders applied with a thin camels hair brush.
In the 3rd insert photo on the right, I am air-brushing the locomotive shell with flat clear Arcrylic paint to seal the weathering powders in place.
The main photo is of the locomotive reassembled, and back at work switching cars on my switching layout.
