The Almost There Railroad
Over the last 6 weeks, I've spent a lot of hours getting my DCC (Digital Command Control) HO shelf switching layout to this stage.
Still, its been a lot of fun, and although I still need to do more work here and there including adding signage to the buildings, and more weathering, as well as some detailing.
For the moment, with the mounting brackets built and in place, the layout has now been mounted on the wall.
Next is to get the background photos shot and get them mounted in place, bringing the layout to life.
I have found the photo locations here in Calgary, and in particular in Inglewood where I plan on shooting the background images industrial in nature, required to bring the layout to life.
I did shoot a few test photos and made some quick and dirty prints to get an idea as to how the layout will look, and I'm pleased with my choices, now its waiting around for the snow to melt.
Down the rails, I probably will also add lighting to all the building interiors, as well as lighting to the layout, like flashing signals and so forth.
I've been admiring the lighting control boxes with the various options and types of lighting available for a model train layout, and it has peaked my interest
So although there's more work to be done, its pleasurable work, with operating sessions in between.
