VE6AB Mobile Ops
Hard Water APRS
Mid morning finds me relaxing while keeping an eye on my fishing rods set up on Chain Lakes where I spent the better part of the day ice fishing.
Of course I don't go no where without a collection of radios to keep me entertained, and today was no different.
With my mobile parked on the shoreline of Chain Lakes located 120 kilometers southwest of Calgary, I'd pulled my ice fishing sled out on to the frozen waters of Chain Lakes where I set up my manpack with its Yaesu FT-897D and included 10-40 meter MagLoop antenna.
The insert photo shows me relaxing while checking on the packets being kicked out by my Kenwood D72, then supposedly being captured and decoded by the fill-in digi part of my Radio stack in my mobile.
Funny thing is that if you look at the information box you will see that the Burton Creek digi located south of Chain Lakes was muscling my mobile out of the road by capturing my beacons first!
